Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806) was a leading French Rococo painter renowned for his playful, sensual, and expressive style. A pupil of François Boucher, he became famous for his dynamic compositions, fluid brushwork, and luminous colour palette, often depicting themes of love, intimacy, and pleasure. Fragonard’s work captures the elegance and spontaneity of 18th-century French aristocratic life, blending technical virtuosity with emotional lightness.
